Met future wife Darlene Whittington.
You walked lightly into my life Captivating and lovely to my mind, At first, I never cared who you were Now I don’t know who I am without you, You kissed me I felt my world change, You held me I heard my heart awaken, You loved me And my soul was born anew You walked lightly into my life Now my heart knows who you are And with every breath And every step I take down lonely roads, Your hand is my staff Your voice is my guide Your strength my shelter You’re passion my awakening. You walked lightly into my life, And all my pain You took as your own, And all my fears You cast into the sea, All my doubt Lost in your eyes, You walked lightly into my life
My life is forever changed, Just because you loved me For a moment in time. And because I choose To love you For the rest of mine. |

THE MONTANO FAMILY AND STEVES CO-WORKERS AND FRIENDS WITH THE HELP AND SUPPORT OF HOMICIDE SURVIVORS HELD A PRESS CONFERENCE. WE HAD SO MUCH SUPPORT FROM OUR LOCAL NEWS MEDIA. THEY WERE ALL VERY KIND AND COMPASSIONATE. THEY TREATED US ALL WITH RESPECT AND I ESPECIALLY APPRECIATE THE WAY THEY COVERED THE WHOLE STORY OF STEVE AND GAVE HIM THE RESPECT IN ACKNOWLEDGING THAT HE WAS A TRUE VICTIM OF MURDER AND LEFT BEHIND MANY TORN LIVES.IT IS HOPED THAT WITH CONTINUED EXPOSURE OF STEVES CASE SOMEONE WILL COME FORWARD WITH INFORMATION OR MAYBE A CONFESSION. |

Two months after Steves death the family could finally face going back to the place Steve was murdered .. We found an abandoned campsite 1/10th of a mile from where Steve had his campsite and was murdered. The investigators apparently missed it. It is believed that this other site was involved in the death of my husband. Why was it not seen sunday when they first knew Steve had been murdered? Or the monday after ? Or for the next two months. |

Steves family and friends attended the 1 year memorial. It was one of the prettiest days I have ever seen on that mountain. Fresh and very green and the cactus had such bright open flowers. Everyone was sad about why we were there, but everyone was surprised at what a beautiful day. The balloons headed straight to the top of the mountain. Steve always walked to the top in search of the perfect deer. Going home his dad had a blow-out. It was just a few feet away from where we waited for the sheriff the day we found Steve. It was as if he did'nt want us to leave. That is just one more way Steve proved he was there that day...
